Eligibility Requirements
mQACC members should have an expertise in the quality assurance and quality control for untargeted metabolomics and be affiliated with and appropriate institution or company.
Members should have or have held a position within the last five years as an expert in the field of untargeted metabolomics. This includes—but is not limited to—research positions at the postdoctoral level or higher. Individuals without a doctorate are also eligible for membership where they can demonstrate their expertise. Graduate students (i.e., masters and doctoral students or equivalent) are eligible for graduate membership and will require the support of their supervisor.
To maintain mQACC membership, active participation in at least one working group and attendance for at least three teleconference and/or face-to-face meetings every year is required.
Membership Types
There are three categories of membership for mQACC:
Affiliate Member: Member with practical experience in untargeted metabolomics, including quality assurance and quality control practices.
Non-affiliate Member: Member who does not have practical experience in the field of metabolomics, but in a related field (e.g. proteomics). A non-affiliate member must have an interest in the field, including an interest in quality assurance and quality control.
Graduate Member: Graduate students (i.e., masters and doctoral students or equivalent) working on the development of QA/QC processes to be applied in untargeted metabolomics and which are relevant to the work of mQACC. Graduate students only applying QA and QC processes in their research are not eligible to be members.
Application Process
Potential Affiliate and Non-Affiliate members are asked to submit the following two items via email to info@mQACC.org.
An application form [PDF - 951 KB]. The application form asks for the name of a current mQACC member (see list below on this page) who is willing to sponsor the application. Potential members who do not have access to a current mQACC member, but are otherwise qualified for membership should contact info@mQACC.org prior to submitting application materials to request a sponsor.
A current Curriculum Vitae and/or NIH Biosketch.
Membership is effective upon notification to and confirmation of acceptance by the Coordinating Committee.
Potential Graduate members are asked to submit the following two items via email to info@mQACC.org.

A letter from the applicant’s supervisor which includes details of the course being studied and how work being performed relates to development of QA/QC practices.
